Yes, our hot cups are commercially compostable, certified by eco-standards such as BPI and CMA. They are designed to break down in industrial composting facilities. See product details for more information.
How do insulated paper coffee cups protect hands from heat?
These cups feature a double-wall construction that traps an air pocket between layers, which provides insulation so you don’t need a sleeve, similar to how durable cups like the World Centric 16 oz Double Wall Compostable Hot Cup or Planet+ 12 oz PLA-Lined Double Wall Hot Cup perform.
What temperature can these compostable hot cups safely handle?
Our PLA-lined double-wall cups are heat-resistant and suitable for hot beverages. For example, some similar compostable hot cups can “withstand boiling water” per manufacturer specs.
How should I dispose of these insulated paper coffee cups after use?
Dispose of them in commercial composting facilities where available. PLA-lined cups require industrial composting (heat and moisture) to fully decompose, as home compost bins are often not large enough to generate the required heat.
